catching up

well there was another bake sale Saturday

had to take hubs to the er with kidney stones pain so I had to finish up sat morning



here is my bloody cake fake eyeballs fangs and mice all around it was a red devil cake

2 layers red-velvet and one in the middle devils-food they bar down the road gave 20$ for it hope nobody choked on and eyeball lol

I also made my usual dog pops a rawhide stick baked in a doggie pumpkin spice cookie

 

 

 

this will be my border I think a 3 in. and a 6

clearly perfect I got it for 10$at crazyquiltgirl shop where I got the border fabric

it is static cling and you trim out where your bobbin goes on three sides and you never have to take it out like the easy angle but it is the same basic idea

 

well its back to the doctor tomorrow for  hubby then on Friday he has the sonic blaster for the stones again I feel so bad for him

HALLOWEEN BAG DONE BEFORE HALLOWEEN

 

MY NEW BAG

cute huh

my husband made fun of it said it wont hold anything its not practical soo what its cute!

 

 

at the hospital because that's really the test of a great bag a building full of all kinds of women

I got told what a cute bag couple times and hubs told me not to pee from excitement reason being

if I ask him if he is excited about going shopping etc. with me he always tells  that it is so fun he pees a little just a joke of course (I hope) I really dont think he is excited at all he just always says that 

 

 

 

once again the fabric is riley blake  too cute to spook i just love those characters and a little from my stash

I am doing a 3"inner and maybe a 6 outer

this has nothing to do sewing but don't you just love it

last week I went to target to pick up a few things and saw this coat and picked out gloves and a scarf

got to check out and decided I really didn't  need to spend the money on them and gave them up so I ran in real quick to get cat litter and a couple new workout bottoms and the coat was still there

did I mention they only had a small and lg last week so I took it as a sign that I had to have that coat and the scarf and gloves were still there to

so here it is

well I need to finish up my stuff for the bake sale tomarrow so I will talk later

harvest moon barn raising

I have added the pumpkins I put fusible on the fabric and cut out I will (try ) to use invisible thread and machine  applique them on but I just don't have good luck with the tension the thread always breaks but you  don't know because.....its invisible

I have the border fabric ordered should be here fast I am going to stay with the same fabric line I love Kansas troubles

I cant wait to get it off to the quilter she has a lg oak leaf I want her to do the whole quilt in

well about my life I couldn't work today (never on the weekend this happens)

anyway my husband had another kidney stone attack and was up all night I felt so bad for him he woke me up to take him to ER I told him that they just gave him pain med and sent him home and we ad some left so he took it and it let up we went to doc this morning and he has several again and has to do that sonic machine again next week

the dogs slept with him all night on the couch they can tell when we don't feel well

I did manage to get a couple things done bake sale this weekend ill take pics of what I made

I always make dog treats and I just did not have time the last sale I have them done

1997-2013

when I brought him home he was so tiny my husband let me have him when we got back from getting married in vegas

my welsh corgi (Harley) thought he was a gift for him and carried him around by the hair on top his head 

he has been love by and out lived Harley ,chelsey, Cody and Annie 4 of the greaest dogs and they are with him now I am sure

 

barn raising

 

well my log cabin quilt is almost done it will be in the barn raising setting when I decided to do another log cabin quilt this will be 4 I made one x-mas colors and 2 green and cream

anyway I really did not have a plan except that it would be in fall fabrics and have pumpkins in the light sections somewhere so I did not know how big it would need to be I figured 60 blocks would be plenty not counting that a barn raising setting looks better big and has to be square so here it is I still have to applique the pumpkins on and sew the blocks together oh and last night I realized after laying it out I also needed 4 more blocks so here's the dilemma do  I do 4 more ugh! or make it 7x7

well this morning decide I could whip out 4 more blocks and I did it really doesn't take long if you only need 4

I LOVE IT

I will probably put pumpkins in the center and random around it is around 80x80 I might put a border I have leftover of the cream leaves and I had to open the third honey bun to finish the last 4  so I might use them too

the whole panel it really did not take long and you done have to sew really close and I suppose you could make your stitches bigger if you wanted the large panel will be the bottom in the end

i wont probably take the time  to make a pocket since this is a seasonal bag and October is almost over

 

 

 

well that's it I have started cutting on swoon and I might cut out mine while im at it

 I have another busy weekend the color drive is this weekend non stop people after people

hungry and in a hurry so I wont get anything done fun

 I guess that's it for today

catching up

SO I HAVE HAD A FEW DAYS OFF WORKED TUESDAY HAD A DOC APP. ON MONDAY SO GOT NOTHING DONE THAT DAY MY CAT OF 20 YRS IS HAVING A REALLY ROUGH TIME I HAVE TO CARRY HIM MOST PLACES THIS MORNING I FOUND HIM WATCHING ME WORKOUT IN THE BASEMENT FROM THE DOOR THIS SOUND CREEPY I KNOW BUT USUALLY HE IS JUMPING FROM THE RAFTERS OVER MY HEAD THE WHOLE TIME BUGGING ME  SO THIS IS VERY SAD

ON TO SOMETHING ELSE

 

KEEPING IN MIND THAT THESE WERE SEPTEMBERS 2 BLOCKS

CREWEL WORLD IS THE NAME IF YOU ARE NEW HERE I AM TRYING TO DO 2 A MONTH BUT I  N0W HAVE TO MAKE 4 THIS MONTH

 

THESE ARE QUILT AS YOU GO STRIPS I AM GOING TO DO 2 MORE STRIPS I SEWED 2 JELLY ROLL STRIPS TOGETHER AND  SOME I ADDED A STRIP OF CREAM JUST TO BREAK IT UP NOT SURE WHERE I AM GOING WITH THIS JUST WANTED A LITTLE BREAK   BABY QUILT MAYBE?

AND I HAVE FINISHED THE LAST ROW ON THE LOG CABIN TIME TO BEGIN MAKING A QUILT WITH THEM

 

 

small projects

I recently ordered this fabric before it sells out it is riley blake I don't know why I keep taking pics upside down oh well

too cute to spook I believe is the name of it and it is sooo cute

I ordered a new craftsy class when it went on sale to the quilt as you go bag that is what I plan on doing with this fabric I got a blackish grey chevron fabric for the bottom part I think it will be cute of course I wont be getting it done by this oct but it will get done

we have a lot going on this month our festival is in full scale I did get off at 2:30 yesterday so I got to look around bought some dry gourds for my lamps and my husband helps at the fireman's stand frying fishso we both came home early

my nieces decided they would come over and steal some of our giant pumpkins for their houses

here is my pile of log cabin blocks 2 more rounds of fall strips and I might be done with them and get to make the quilt

yes it to is a  fall project that wont be done

 

I am still working on this I decided to make little swirls on the gloves

and they looked good but when I looked at the back it was a tension

NIGHTMARE!!!!

I have to rip all of it out have you ever ripped out free motion quilting  small free motion quilting

yuck thank god I looked before I went to the next one

all the applique has fusible on it I think that's the problem here 

 

I sewed together some strips quite awhile ago and cut them at a 60 degree angle  and was not sure what I  wanted to do they have to almost be a baby quilt for a boy because it looks like boy fabric

so I am doing a quilt as you go method more to come on that I have use the strips I cut and need to cut more of that

hope to get in a finish this week I will keep you posted

october pumpkins whats going on

well fall is here today I don't have much to talk about we have has a couple doctors appts this week so I did not get anything done I am however going to get 2 more crewel world blocks done this week so I have last month and next

I think I can do it at my husbands apt Monday

some goodies for the town bakesale                                   

the back got to dry and fell out of my gourd light

I think I can make one of these

more about that later

can you say boring!!!!!

well I will post some pics of what I am working on but you will yawn as I am it is indeed boring

 

 

since I told my quilter to put me back on her list I figure I should get to work on the other dwr but I knew I wasn't going to have enough but I don't need a whole fat qrtr bundle so I found a desert roll online hope it will be enough to finish I have about 125 arcs finished

if you ever do one of these the source I had said to press open all seams I hate that but I did not do it on part of the other and regret not so I am all of this one but I think I will do the whole arc and then press open DO NOT DO THIS WAY you will in fact burn your fingers many times and I think

now stay with me ... that it takes longer just sayin as you sew the pairs together because this uses 6 pieces before adding the outer square you will have 3 sets press them all as you go then all you have to do is sew them together and done

getting ready for another round I like this in the smaller logs but geeze!!!!  does it take forever I want 2 more rds all around that should make it around 11 -11 1/2

square I am on 5 with the cream

 

 

tried to make snowballs for the faces not to bad 

I have to do their hats too

 

 

almost done with sleeping snowmen my thread came in 3 days superior thread your great

I might leave the brown strips alone not sure yet I got brown thread in case I don't

 

oh and remember these

well I did drop the ball here I am working on them and hope to finish this week  but now I am behind on the 2 for oct

they are cut out I have to turn under before I glue them to the background square they really don't take long but I still have to applique to the backgrounds after they are all done that is time consuming
