new fast quilt project

so we got an invite to a boys wedding that we have known all his life and wanted to give him something special so i rooted through all my fabric trying to find enough of something not to big i could easily maybe quilt myself and heres what i found a half cut out quilt with still all the fabric together and all i had to do was cut out a few more squares and stitch it up 2to 3 days work now to baste and quilt i have a month it looks like something i would snuggle under
12 in blocks 6x7layout
i have said before im not good with random scrappy and sames touching but i like it i really do i think im going to quilt in geometric squares all over and a pieced back

my hobo is done but  i think it needs a little bling

noodlehead basket

i bought a pdf pattern of a divided basket i have seen alot of divided baskets but usually the divider is removible this one is sewn in and i likedit had several fabrics and a outer pocket so this week i tied into itcouple things the pics are not good and after print even worse but i think i got it the divider incertion is a bit confusing so i dont know if i did it the right way or my way either way i think they turned out adorablei sometimes with things like this i cut out 2 just in case i screw it up so ill be keeping one and giving one full of diapers and such away later here they are in proogress 

and the finish

 the lighting really does not do them justice the outer is a really pretty leaf camoprint and the lining a orange leopard he does alot of hunting so i thought this would work i cant wait to make more

 

 that i got a pattern in padukah of a tote with a velcro divider im going to try that later

i also cut out this purse pattern while im off work and plan to finish it

  i learned alot at the quilt show mainly theres a tool for everything ill post some pics of m haul laterhere is a coupleblocks i had leftover and quilted yself to decide what i want on the quilt itselfwas in a hurry and not real straight tho

well im off to paducah quilt show this my third year just a note tho thelma of cupcakes n daisies ill be looking for you since im outawork @####!#$$# anyway we are gonna leave early and i hope that on our return tomarrow evening that we are still able to get across the ferrythe river is at  at 36'now gonna get to 36.5 friday i estimate that just for reference the water is over the table top if you were sitting at on having a catfish fritter dinner maybe there is even a catfish sittin there now mocking

idecided to make my pillow into a table topper needed something bright

THAT OLE MUDDY RIVER

tale of two rivers

so i life between the illinois river and the mississippi river out in the middle of nowhere in the country  and  thats  the way we like it yes its a pain when this happens and a pain when you need to got o the store 45 min away

 

 



when i got to work the bleachers were barely in the water now 2 pm



 



7 am



 

right now the resteraunt where i work is taking on water and everybody has to drive around and stare at averybodys misfortune why is that noone ever cares how high the water has been and now everybody wants to stare and they are just in the way of us poor people trying to make a living we will have a makeshift gravel walk so we can get in and out and its unbeleivable how many people will walk thro the water acrosss the gravel berm just so they can ask a million questions and never see them againthe phone will ring off the hook wanting to know if the ferry that is now basically turning around in our parking lot is still running ( HELLLLO PEOPLE THEY HAVE   A PHONE LOOK IT UP PLEASE) the three surrrounding towns are also flooded the have shut down the bridge to louisians mo

this was yest at 2 pm it has now completely surrounded the resteraunt and has begun to enter the front entrancewe will be removing the tables and chairs today and whatever is left they predict 3 -4 feet inside the building by mid week

then when it returnd to the banks we alljoin in the fun of clean up the muddy mess

repainting bleaching washing

then life as we know it on the quilt river side will return THATS MY RANT off to work i hope
