more coastal lily

this what I have so far all the lilies are paired and geese are ready to be herded up

I think I'm going to love it when I get finished

but I'm not sure about the quilting

frankly I am ready to have a finish this week and I am sure you are tired of looking at this one and have a new plan

I seem to have uses my old method of measure once and cut twice  but I think it is going to work out I have a good feeling

on the other hand Thelma over at cupcakes n daisies has finished hers and it is beautiful and a new schnibble to boot what a woman!

I am going to start a new one by Monday I have it picked up downloaded and I have most of the fabric already I love it when I start a new one and can use what I already have  I did pick up a few fat quarters at the quilted cow when I took my machine in to be cleaned before I start to quilt my hubble

this jar is mostly full of the leftover triangles trimmed off after the stitch and flip that this quilt is mostly made of im not sure what to do with them

this is a kit I picked up the other day when I took my dwr into the quilter I think it will be cute for my granddaughter

well I am back to work a week now and tired going to bet talk later

I'm back to work hopefully nothing will go wrong their have  been rumors as much as I love not working I love working   I like to talk to people and hear what they have to say we have a lot of loyal customers and heard all the horror stories about them trying to get a fish sd. other places we do have great fish !
 

I have been on  the fence about this flower above like hate it leave it in or take it out

you think  I have all those geese sewn together  nope  just those  2 sets

 

 I had a few extra geese that did not square up proper so I cut them down and this was a little piece of cuteness like I said I always try to make extra so I can play with the quilting

a few of the geese units squared up  I have some strips leftover from civil war reunion that I think will work out

I did end up recutting a few more stem units like I said it makes me crazy

and I got out my hubble and started the ditch quilting not sure how i'm going to quilt it yet

and bubba is so tired from....................well i'm not sure but he is

I also am having a bobbin problem it has been making a lot of noise in my janome 7700 i'm going to have to address this
and we are cleaning up again from the flood and hoping to reopen
no job no new fabric bad word insert here

new mindset and game plan

I thought about recutting the lily parts and resewing these things make me crazy when they don't come out perfect but I have to much time invested and I think I can work it out I thought I could trim them down and make it work then I had this thought come to me in the middle of the night then the geese units would not measure out right so I have a few extra parts like I always make I will square all and sew together the good parts I think it is just a couple blocks that are short and my stems well they have an eating disorder some skinny some a little chunky ill deal with that later guess what I have a couple extra of those too i have put  a fusible on the berries when  I cut them  and I don't think ill be stitching them down later I machine app.one and I just don't like the way it looked

when its quilted I think a swirl on the middle is what ill do 

 

so I will be moving todayI am hoping to get the binding finished on my stitchers

 

 garden today and washed and

wish me luck its always a day to learn something new

quilty goodnessand coastal lily progress

                                                                 I finished the dwr sample and its washed and kandi thought it was a little windy so she held it down for me the larger one is for my niece and when I get back to work soon I hope I will take it to be quilted by my longarm quilter I hated to call and tell her to skip over me I have waited 12 weeks to get it in but I just do not have the money she told me she had 100 quilts and was behind so it worked for both I think I  will take it up this week tho

 I like to make a few extra blocks
1.because I usually screw at least one up
2 because I like to quilt it myself and decide how I want it to look

I am going to call this afternoon at the beach it is a smaller version of my afternoon at the park I had the longarm quilter do last year  and is a tube strip quilter I got off the Missouri quilt co and I still don't have the binding on I had several strips leftover that didn't match so I put it together and quilted it myself oh my all those little pebbles but I loved how It turned out

I am still trying different ways of sewing the binding still think hand is the best looking but I machine sewed it on so I could get it finished

                    I love the outer border design I call it eyeballs and I stole the idea from judi at the green fairy hope she doesn't mind I could never do it justice she does such beautiful work

on to my project at hand  this is a finished coastal lily block

as I said before I can not cut and sew straight I think if my life depended on it so naturally I had problems the berries are not in the crack like they should be and the blocks are not 10 1/2 like they should be so I thought I would shave them down so I can square them and then I think the geese will be off and still have to do them

 

 I think the crime started with the lily parts they were not quite the same size and went down hill from there

 I have these and im going to make a few more and remedy the problem

so im still outa work rumor has it that we might be unable to reopen I have worked here 22 yrs I don't think I know how to do anything else so we will remain broke until further notice

these were taken 2 days ago the water is dropping at a few inches per day  sorry abt the sun it was 630 in the morning I just love morning everything starts new again

i have a finish to share as soon as i get it pressed today and then ill post maybe 2

this is it all wadded up in the corner my stained glass is all sewn together

 

 

and i finished all the pebbling on this yesterday took abt 2 hrs i should have timed the whole quilt so i know just how long it took to fill it all in

so now on to the borders there are three two while and one pieced with the strips and i cut them at 4.5 and sewn end to end i should have measured better afterthought and done it right some of the sections had to be shortened but this was my scrap challenge to myself to quilt something other than lines or meander

so im trying to keep the house cleaned up and get some of these projects knocked out still working on coastal lily

waiting on some thread and got some stabilizer at good ole wally world on sat.

so i can start on the berries and stems

BARK IN THE PARK

YESTERDAY SINCE I WAS FEELING A LITTLE  DEPRESSED (ALOT )ABOUT THE NEW FLOOD AND NOT EVEN GETTING TO GO IN ON MY SHIFT BEFORE CLOSING I ENVITED MY SISTER AND 2 NEICES TO JOIN

ME AT A EVENT TO HELP OUT LOCAL NO KILL ANIMAL SHELTER THEY HAVE FOOD GAMES AND EVENTS FOR THE DOGS WE TOOK KANDI AND EARONS NEW PUP WHITLEE THEY WERE EXAUSTED AND I HAD TO CARRY KANDI BECAUSE SHE DOESNT LIKE HER BUTT

SNIFFED RANDOMLY BY OTHER DOGS AND THERE ARE ALOT BIG ONES TINY ONES AND EVEN A MONKEY THAT DID NOT LIKE LINDSEYS HAIR I GUESS AND HISSED AT HER

 

 

 

THIS IS THE MONKEY AND HER DOG APPERANTLY AFTER WE LEFT IT ATTACKED A SMALL BOY FOR PETTING HER DOG IT WAS ON THE NEWS IT HISSED AT MY ONE NEICE AND SHE TOLD US IT WAS FINE DONT BE AFRAID GUESS THAT WAS WRONG

IVE GOT TO MAKE OR FIND ONE OF THESE IF I HAVE TO CARRY HER AGAIN IT GOES ON LIKE A BIG DIAPER AND HAS A TAIL HOLE

 

 DOGS IN TU TUS EVERYWHERE IM SURPRISED THEY DID NOT HAVE ONE STAND SELLING DOG STUFF KANDI LOVES TOSHOP AND PEOPLE TELL HER HOW PRETTY SHE IS I SWEAR SHE UNDERSTANDS PERFECT ENGLISH
